Today we did lots of chores:
1. Filled our water tank.
2. Emptied our storage box and found places to put all the stuff, stashing blankets, bags, and wine in cubby holes.
3. Checked oil and coolant for the engine and generator.
4. Started and listened to the engine and generator.
5. Mopped the swim platform and back porch.
6. Stowed our hoses.
7. Reviewed our anchoring out plans for this week.
8. Called Fernandina Beach to see if we can stay there for the month of March.
9. Cooked a pot roast in the crock pot.
10. Had FaceTime with all the grandchildren.
11. Listened to the NOAA marine weather forecast for Monday. It was good: winds 5-10, waves under 2 feet and a light chop.
That's a good top eleven list!
After a quick nap I checked the weather forecast (again) and it has changed. Now the wind is 10 - 15 mph and the waves are 2-3 feet. Thunderstorms are predicted for the morning. Arghh! We want to go. What will we do? George is just getting up from his nap, and I dread telling him.
When I tell George, he is calm. "We'll see," he says.
Being so dependent on the weather is hard. Tomorrow is the most important day because we will be in Hawk Channel, which is less protected than the bay side of the keys. After tomorrow we will travel on the bay side. I am going outside to do some yoga. Maybe the Sun Salutation will bring me good luck.
Here's a meditation: Key Lime Pie from Blue Heaven, Key West.
Good luck. I will cross fingers for good weather. I bet you are a little sad to be leaving Stock Island. You have had such a good time.
