Jurassic World

This carousel from 1909 is at the Destiny Mall in Syracuse, NY.
Not a replica, the real thing, restored and still working.

Our friends, Jean and Dave from Knot There, rented a car and invited us to the movies today.  We saw Jurassic World in 3D at 10:45 am.  What a wake up call!  It was lots of fun, if you like screaming and laughing and eating a tub of popcorn, which I do. I enjoyed Chris Pratt on Parks and Rec, so I am glad to see him get such a good part.

After the movie we looked around the mall, which was amazing.  I am not a shopper, so I rarely go to upscale malls.  This place has a ropes course, a race track, the carousel pictured above and many regular shops and bars.  It is three levels of fun.

We came home and had a fun FaceTime with Harper and his boys.  Then George vacuumed, and I cleaned the bathroom.  He took a nap, and I made Trisha Yearwood's crockpot mac and cheese for the
marina cook-out.

This place is relaxed and full of happy campers.  Even though the Oswego Canal is closed north of us, we have sunshine and a holiday.  We're getting a few chores done while we are stopped, and we'll be ready to move whenever NY State Canals says, "Go!"

Ready for the marina potluck

Three flags fly in front of the marina:  USA, Canada, and a blue one
that says, "Don't Give up the Ship!"
