We are from Georgia, and we are cold. We got caught in a big storm at 6:00 pm on Sunday, coming back from NYC. Ever since it has been rainy and grey and cold. At bedtime we wear a full outfit and socks. Last night we had two blankets on the bed. Are we in Norway? No, we are in New York.
Today is June 2. At home in Atlanta, my grand-daughters had water play at their preschool. They wore bathing suits and tossed beach balls and played on wet slides. I cleaned the boat and hung towels and pants and coats around our 8' x 10' salon to dry. This reminds me of snow days in the south. The first day of snow or ice is a holiday. The second day we get tired of being wet and cold. I think this may be payback for our exuberance and joy in Key West in January.
Our boy Blue was the best performer at Mallory Square, Key West.
We had another snuggly day on the boat. George did some engineering, and I did some cleaning. We reviewed our plans for tomorrow. It's a better weather day, so all the loopers here are leaving and moving either up the Hudson River or out the East River. The Hudson is tidal, so we want to move with the morning incoming tide. The Staten Island Ferries are in port on the hour and half hour, so we want to cross their path then. We will be waked by water taxis and who knows what kinds of boats; however, we want to be as smart as we can at finding quiet water and getting across the harbor.
At 4:00 pm we went to the yacht club bar for drinks and played cards with Kenny and Kathy from No Zip Code and Mark from Blue Willow. We learned a progressive rummy game that was tough. Those midwesterners are good card players: Mark was the big winner. It was great to get off Aunt Aggie and visit with friends. We will travel with Blue Willow tomorrow. We don't know when we'll see No Zip Code again.
We have enjoyed our time on Staten Island. The boaters here welcomed us and helped us and shared their days.

Today's photos are from our warm and sunny visit to the keys in January. Look at those blue skies!
